While excavating a giant, ice-age sloth near Shenandoah, Iowa, a team from the UI Museum of Natural History found the 12,000-year-old bones of a juvenile sloth near the adult—the first-ever find of this kind.

The Old Capitol Museum's Children's Diary Project, brings to life the voices of children from as far back as the 1870s.
